TCV School Ladakh: Teachers Professional Development (TPD) Collborative Practices
Teacher’s professional development (TPD) plays a crucial role in the growth and improvement of educators, ultimately benefiting both students and teachers. At TCV School Ladakh, the Principal, Headmaster, and TPD coordinators actively encourage teachers to engage in professional development activities, particularly collaborative practices.
To ensure the relevance and effectiveness of the TPD projects, TPD coordinators engage in fruitful discussions with each department to ascertain if the chosen topic aligns with the needs and goals of the school and its teachers. This collaborative approach ensures that teachers are empowered to take charge of their professional growth and development.
As a part of the TPD program, teachers are assigned one period in week as a TPD period wherein teachers from the same department come together to discuss and share insights about their projects. This allows for a dynamic exchange of ideas, enabling teachers to learn from each other's experiences and implement best practices in their classrooms.
Engaging in collaborative TPD not only equips teachers with new skills and strategies but also fosters a sense of camaraderie among colleagues. It creates a supportive environment wherein teachers feel valued and motivated, leading to improved teaching practices. Ultimately, this benefits students by ensuring quality education and an enhanced learning experience.
